"Since I can remember, I have always been busy with creative projects and enjoyed trying new things. Drawing, painting, sewing, making sculptures, crocheting, jewelry making and various building are all projects I have spent time on.

My mum has been - and still is - a big inspiration for me, she is also very creative and we used to make costumes every year together for the carnival.

In 2019 I discovered the world of mosaics when I had an internship with mosaic artist Pia Skak Mortensen in Copenhagen. She taught me the art and I helped her with various mosaics projects. I quickly caught on and enjoyed it thoroughly. I continued developing my skills and style in mosaics during an engineering degree I took in architectural engineering. Once I finished the study at the end of 2023 I decided to try and live off mosaics.

I was already aware of how difficult it would be to make a living as an artist, but I felt like I should give it a shot. I started going to art fairs and markets, both selling my own mosaic art and also organising drop-in mosaic workshops for visitors to try it out for themselves.

Although mosaic is a very old art form, it is not very widespread in Denmark where I live, and the response I get from passerby's here is amazing.

In the summer of 2024 I teamed up with my colleague Maja Sasson, and we started a business called Fragmenta Mosaic Lab focusing solely on physical mosaic workshops and DIY sets. See our website here.

I continue to make mosaic art and take commissions under the name Lila Mosaics, and I am also working on developing more DIY sets, both digital and physical.

I am not planning very far into the future, I'll see where it all leads and which doors open, but I want to thank everyone who follows my journey and supports me. Especially my mum who has helped me a lot and continues to inspire and give me ideas, and also my sister and the rest of my family"
